Recently, the Las Vegas Sand Corporation has sent lobbyists and representatives to the Lone Star State to inform city officials about their plans for five casinos if new legislation is passed in 2025. A Sands representative told North Texas city officials that they are eyeing two casinos in Dallas/ Ft. Worth but will also add three other casinos around the state if allowed.
Casino legislation was rejected in 2024, but now the industry is growing to support Mark Cuban’s desire to bring a casino to the new Dallas Mavericks stadium. Representatives from the Sands Corp. told city officials from Arlington, Irving, and Dallas that the state is losing millions in taxable revenue to nearby states that offer casino gambling.
